Why Love Hair Coconut Oil

It's beauty grade–which means it's the highest and most premium quality of Coconut Oil on the market, designed specifically for cosmetic use–unlike cooking grade Coconut Oils that are normally chemically refined, bleached, and deodorized.

Special extraction process–Love Hair Coconut Oil is both cold pressed and centrifuged, which means it was extracted without any heat. This results in the purest and highest quality Coconut Oil with antioxidants, Vitamin E, fatty acids, antibacterial, anti-fungal and antimicrobial properties still intact. Traditional Coconut Oils go through a heat based extraction process and bleaching, which strips away most of the nutritional benefits of the oil.

Fresh, hand picked coconuts–produced and pressed from hand picked, fresh coconuts that are processed and bottled only a few hours after they are cracked, unlike traditional Coconut Oils that are refined and created from dried and old coconuts (known as copra) in order to keep costs low.

Sustainability–Love Hair Coconut Oil glass jar is not only easy to use and re-use for your beauty routine (unlike the tall, thin clunky jars you normally need a spoon for), it also comes in sustainable, 100% recyclable packaging that is made from FSC certified card stock.

What makes our Love Hair Coconut Oil different is its exceptional purity. Unlike regular coconut oil, it's non-greasy, flawlessly white, and has a silky smooth, superfine texture that absorbs quickly into your hair and skin.

How Love Hair Coconut Oil is made:

Frequently Asked Questions

How to apply Coconut Oil in hair?

Scoop some Coconut Oil with your fingers and rub it between the palms of your hands. A little bit goes a long way, so be sure to scoop little by little. Apply directly to dry or damp hair, working the oil well into the hair. Comb through with a wide tooth comb to spread the oil evenly. Tip: avoid the roots if they tend to get oily. Leave the Coconut Oil in your hair for minimum 30 minutes or overnight, and rinse in the shower. For best results, use a natural and organic shampoo and conditioner. That's it—enjoy shiny, silky smooth hair when your hair dries. You can also use a small amount of Love Hair Coconut Oil to tame frizz and flyaways.

Why is my Coconut Oil liquid?

Please note that Love Hair Coconut Oil melts and turns into a clear, liquid state in temperatures above 77 degrees Farenheit. This is completely normal. To revert it back into solid state, simply put the jar in a cool or cold place (a fridge works really well) and you can enjoy the creamy, flawlessly white texture on your hair and skin.

What does cold-pressed and centrifuged mean?

Love Hair Coconut Oil goes through a special manufacturing process - it is both cold-pressed and centrifuged. Cold-pressed refers to the method of extracting coconut milk from the coconut meat without using heat, whilst centrifuging is the process of extracting oil from the coconut milk. We use both methods as a standard for our Coconut Oil production. This results in the purest and highest quality Coconut Oil with antioxidants, Vitamin E, fatty acids, antibacterial, anti-fungal and antimicrobial properties still intact. In contrast, traditional cooking grade Coconut Oils go through a heat based extraction process and bleaching, which strips away most of the nutritional benefits of the oil.

Why should I choose Love Hair Pure Coconut Oil over others?

We have sourced the highest grade Coconut Oil designed specifically for your hair and skin. Our Coconut Oil is 100% natural, raw, unrefined, USDA certified organic with no added preservatives, and has a silky and super-fine texture that is not greasy and has no foul odor or taste, making it perfect for all things beauty-related. We care a lot about our Earth, so our packaging is 100% recyclable and made from FSC certified card stock. The Coconut Oil jar is made of glass, which is very easy to use and re-use. Plus, it's the perfect luxe addition to your bathroom shelf among your other favorite beauty products. We also love our furry friends–our product is Certified Vegan and Certified Leaping Bunny cruelty-free.

What is the difference between beauty grade Coconut Oil and cooking grade Coconut Oil?

Traditionally, most cooking grade Coconut Oils in grocery stores are refined and use dried and old coconuts (known as copra) in order to keep costs low. They also go through chemical refining and are even deodorized and bleached to give the oil its coloring (commonly referred to as RBD) which impacts the overall quality of the oil. Refined Coconut Oil traditionally goes through a heat based extraction process which changes the chemical structure of the fatty acids found in the Coconut Oil and therefore, strips away most of the nutritional benefits, natural fatty acids, and the antioxidant and antibacterial capacity of the oil. Cooking grade Coconut Oil may also contain additional additives and preservatives. Because of this, applying cooking grade Coconut Oil for external use can cause irritation to the skin. In contrast, our beauty grade Love Hair Pure Coconut Oil is 100% natural, raw, unrefined, and USDA certified organic, which means there are absolutely no harmful chemicals and preservatives. Love Hair Coconut Oil is cold-pressed and centrifuged, which refers to the method of extracting coconut milk from the coconut meat without using heat. This process helps preserve all of the healthy benefits of the coconut, as it is not refined, bleached and deodorized like regular cooking grade coconut oil is.

Can you share details about your factory and workers?

Of course. Our factory is located in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province located in southern Thailand, where fresh coconuts are picked and jarred only hours after they are cracked. The workforce is comprised of over 100 workers–50% males and 50% females–who work 8 hours per day with 1 hour lunch break and two 10 minute breaks. The workers also get holiday and sick leave, and paid social security and an annual health check. All employees receive a salary over the minimum wages. No forced or child labor is used and all safety and health standards are met. Great relationships are maintained with the community around the facility as well, by respecting the environment and treating the production's waste in an organic way.

Can I cook with this Coconut Oil?

Love Hair Coconut Oil is completely safe to eat. We do, however, recommend using it mostly in your beauty routine as it is the highest grade of Coconut Oil available, created specifically for your hair, face, and body. If you do choose to cook with it, do note that unrefined Coconut Oil has a lower smoke point compared to refined cooking grade Coconut Oil (300-350 degrees vs. 400-450 degrees) and is therefore more appropriate for no-cook or no-bake recipes, such as light sautéing in dishes where its coconut flavour will enhance the recipe.
